Many have asked me. What do you think of the GS 400 vs GS 430?? My analysis.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys the 400 over the 430. I didn't have a chance to really get on the 430 I purchased and when I finally did I was disappointed as I was hoping for something a little more similar to the 400.

Funny, I posted 2 years ago (reply #113) that I preferred the GS400 over the Gs430 having never driven a Gs430. Now that I ACTUALLY OWN a GS430, I can tell you that I like the Gs430 over the GS400. Not sure if the earlier GS430s were the ones with the acceleration delay but I did NOT sense the notorious delay people mentioned. The throttle response has been very responsive in "Power" mode. My 2005 GS430 Hauls A$$! Felt faster than the Gs400 at take off and much faster on the highway. Feels like a more refined 300hp. Well it does share the same engine as the LS430 which is a superb vehicle. Drives smoother, more quiet and much tighter compared to my 1999 GS400. It may be due to the fact that my 2005 GS430 with 82K miles is a lot newer than my old 1999 GS400 with 135K miles but it was VERY well maintained. I don't miss the E shift in my Gs400. Never played with it much to enjoy it. Just made me drive more aggressively when I did use it. Lost a few races due to shifting the wrong gears
Again both are GREAT cars. V8s are very rare. Good luck finding the one you want! Took me several months to get one!
