Default wheel spacer question for GS

mods, i know this question belongs in the wheel section area but i need some help who has used kics 10mm wheel spacers.

those of you that have used kics spacer with the intergrated studs, when you bolt on the spacers onto your stock studs, how much of the stock stud is exposed? i hear you may need wheels with deep recess to accept the exposed stud.

i just need to know how much is exposed so i can do my own measurements.

i know i can use h&r but i would have to use longer studs.

anyone that can help would be appreciated. if you are using a 15mm spacer, it would help also just to give me a point of reference.

thanks

i had the 15mm kics spacers and when i put that on my car...the stocks studs would stick out around 10mm...i sold it cuz my wheel didn't have any space for the stock studs to go into and i didn't feel like cutting the studs to fit...

Some rule of thumb recommendations say that you need atleast 7 revolutions of the lug nut. Count the turns on your stock rims as a reference of how many turns you can get.

On some 5mm spacers and certain wheel designs I have seen as little as 3 turns. This is very unsafe.

You can get longer studs and spacers from 3mm on up from Todd at TM Engineering.

A couple of us have snapped the longer studs on the ones that H&R provides with their spacers. Maybe we got a bad set, but two independent occurances are not comforting odds to me. We torque properly and yet they broke over time, say a year or so.
