Could you repost the pictures. I need to replace my starter. I have replaced on on a Suburban before and if memory serves correctly the hardest part was propping it up to screw it in while bearing the weight. Is it a tight fit?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just finished installng mine. I didnt need to take the tranny out, I did have to use extension and a universal to manueaver to get to the long bolts holding in the starter, it worked and I'm back on the road. I got the autozone duralast for $159.99 w/lifetime warranty. Good luck!

Is there a picture of this DIY you guys can share? One of the two 14 mm bolt is hard to reach with the extension and universal tools. I will appreciate the help.

If I recall I used a combination in this order; deep 6 pt socket, 6" extension, universal swivel, 12" exetension and a few choice words...

Good luck

Sewell's sells the starter contacts or brushes for starter and alternator. Not hard to replace these at only around $20. The contacts wear down over use and that is the culprit 95% of the time.
