Default Anyone ever fully molded in a TTE lip?

Or am I the first?

I got an extra front bumper and a slightly cracked TTE lip(thats why I'm molding it all the way).

Do you guys think I should fill in the sidemarkers or no?

These are just progress pix. Hopefully I can get it finished soon
Only problem is that paint won't cure properly in this cold weather and obviously I don't have a paint booth

Updated Pix as of 1/23/2007

I would fill in the sidemarkers while you are at it. Not sure if it has been done before

Filling in sidemarkers def looks cleaner. But I've gotten ticketed for it when I had that done on my Supra. Something you may want to consider.

Just wondering though. Don't some cars come from the factory with no sidemarker at all?

Yes, but they can get away with it because usually the headlights wrap around to the side of the car and are used as the sidemarkers.

It really depends on the officer, here in the bay area cops are mean

Some people paint their lenses body color, or tint them. These illegal mods are a lot more noticeable by an officer, but with the lense molded off or if blacked out on a black car, you probably stand a better chance at not grabbing any attention.

My RMM front end does not have allocation for the side markers so the harness was left disconnected. I live in the bay area and drive in the citys (Milpitas, Fremont) where the police are nit picky and I have never been pulled over for it, 5 + years now. Knock-on-wood

Are you using standard bondo to fill the lip and how do you plan to fill the side marker hole? The bumper is a flexible frp like material, so I have concerns over cracking down the road if you scrape the driveway a bit hard and flex the bottom of the bumper. As long as you are not building up too thick a layer you are OK, otherwise you stand a chance of cracking at the seam between the TTE lip and the bumper. There are autobody fillers and glues specifically formulated to match the type of material that the bumper and TTE are made of. Any body shop supply store will have dozens of formulas available according to your specific application requirements.

Here's is Synergys TTE molded in, but with the seam left intact, unlike yours where it is fully molded in. I believe DaveGS4 molded his TTE the same as Synergy, back when he had that front lip on his car.
