My 01 GS430 Door Problem
Could somebody tell me how to fix my problem? Okay here's what's happening. The rear passenger door won't lock (or unlock) with the viper 791xv alarm remote or with the door lock button. You have to manually lock it. If I try to lock the car with the remote, the stubborn door prevents the automatic lock from working and it continues to cycle trying to lock the doors. So to lock the car, I have to lock the rear passenger door manually and then the other doors will lock with the remote or door button.

I believe it has nothing to do with your alarm system, you mentioned it wount work with the lock button. I suspect it may be the lock acuator itself, I've replaced a few front door ones.

I have the exact problem. I am 99% sure it's the actuator. I have lived with the annoyance because I'm not ready to shell out the dough for a Lexus actuator at nearly $200. I have searched and searched and found no reliable info for aftermarket actuators either.

Hey HENRY how is everything going? (good I hope) Well to me the door itself seems like it has no power at all. So when I try to lock the doors using the lock button from inside of the car only 3 of my doors lock and unlock. That door that seems to have no power to it I have to manually lock and unlock that door. So do this sound like it may be my actuator? thank you all for your replys

Sounds like you have the infamous door actuator failure that affects a large number of GS as well as other Lexus models. It has been a known design defect for a long time but Lexus has chose to ignore the problem and make owners pay the ridiculous price to get it fixed which is unacceptable from a company like Lexus. I would call corporate which is I think 1-800-25-lexus and tell them and complain. I was quoted over $500 to fix it which I am not going to pay. Good Luck.

I comented here the other day. Today one of my valets is doing a lot check, making sure all the cars are locked. And he grabs the handle to my car, which I always hit the lock button twice to kill the lights, and the freaken door opens enough to set off the alarm. Turns out my actuator is binding and not fully locking. Time to do mine up...
