As most of you know im new here,when i get my car inspected here in Joisey,im gonna tint the windows,i dont know what color to tint them though.Any ideas.

Here is the car - the pinstripe,& yellow marker lights.

I'm going with 35 on mine this winter. We don't have inspection, so I can be a little illegal and most likely not have any issues.

My black GS is 35% and I'm plenty happy with it, PLUS I don't get hassled by the cops or during inspection (35% is max allowed by law in NC).. .not worth it. If you have black interior yours will look even darker.

Don't get metallic / semi-metallic if you have NAV

just to give you an idea, the limo & brow. Its illegal here too, but the only time Ive ever gotten hassled was when I was pulled over and left the windows up when he was walking to the car. I now kinda wish I did the front too but Id be afraid I couldnt see potholes at night..

i got 20% all around solarguard is the brand, nice and comfty for those hot days in the south. also keep in mind oem windows have tint inside the glass...

end results after inspection:

12% front windows
11% rear windows





oooooh... dark tint is good for checking out the hot chick in the car next to you hehe

I am considering having my windows tinted 35%. I just read about that metailzed window tint can adversly affect AM radio reception. As metalized window tint is supposed to be better than just the plain old dyed tint, I was wondering if you guys that have metalized tint on the rear glass can tell me if it did affect your AM radio reception.

I listen to Sportstalk so AM reception is criitcal during football season - Go Skins! Carbon and cermaic are supposed to be better than plain old dyed tint but very expensive.

Scheduled to get the windows tinted Saturday. I want them done prior to the NELOC on 3/11. Is it better to go with cheap run of the mill 35% non-metalized tint for about $100.00, 35% metalized tint that may screw with my AM radio and future GPS (aftermarket) reception $130.00 or 35% Carbon - no metal tint $200.00?

As 35% tint in MD is not really legal due to the factory tint in our glass, there is some potential that I may have remove it.

How long does the cheaper tint last before it changes colors?
