JDM Aristo body
Is it possible, and has anyone thought of, or has done it? In CA, import a JDM Aristo body, but use the USDM engines? If you import an Aristo, would it pass smog w/ out the restrictions if you keep the VVT-i 2JZ-GTE?

Eh what the heck would be the point of importing the Aristo if you're not gona keep the turbo motor? lol
Also, the Aristo might not even have leather or other options that come standard on Lexus. The only reason for importing the Aristo is to keep the turbo motor.
As for the body, I don't even think there is any difference at all between the USDM and JDM JZS160 chassis and body panels.

All Aristo's didn't come with Leather seats, such as mine...mine are swede/cloth seats, which I'm starting to prefer to the standard leather seats...just have to get aftermarket ventilators to keep the seats cool in Summer as in Winter they don't pose any problems whatsoever..this will be after I have someone rip the seats open and have everything installed. The interior is standard blackwood, which I don't think was standard in the US? They also have the one JDM item you in the US don't EVER think of...a extending parking tube which moves up when you're parallel parking to judge where the passenger side corner is...mine also came with rear shade, so don't know if that's optional or not. Also has beefier suspension parts, ie: Daizen bushings are too small to fit...the steering feel is nothing like your standard GS300/GS430, it's tighter, more accurate and not "light" whatsoever...feels more "BMW" like apparently...those are the comments made by Pimpin'GS (I think that's his username on here who's a UK LOC member). So if you want the feel of a BMW, with the power of a 2JZ-GTE, get a Aristo chassis, suspension components etc imported from Japan . You'll get what you want.
