Default Seat heater for GS

Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you guys had this problem in your GS.

My seat heater stopped working recently when i tried to use it. The heater light does turn on, but the seat/back doesnt get heated at all. I contacted the dealership and they quoted me about $800 for the seat, and $1200 for the back, and this is just for parts.

I was thinking if it could be the fuse that broke, or something else?

$2000+labor is kinda expensive just for some new heaters (or a new seat)?

anyone else had this problem?

No seat heater problem yet, but the pricing you got is ridiculous. You can get a WHOLE interior leather kit for GS from leatherseats.com for $700 or so. You can probably get a replacement aftermarket seat heater, or even fix the one you have. What I'm saying is that for $2000 you can get a whole new custom interior, have it installed, and still have $1000 left over to get new heater elements.

I would start by calling a local auto seat re-upholstery shop. They might have more info for you.

yeah i figured its just the heater thats out.. but lexus said i need a new "seat cover" whatever that means.. and its two pieces - one for back, and one for seat.
i dont think they just sell the heater itself, or do they? im not quite sure, but yeah ill start by calling auto upholstery shops. thanks...

I believe the heater element is sewn into, or otherwise attached to, the "seat cover". The seat cover is the leather. It covers the foam padding that gives the seat its shape. I guess Lexus doesn't sell these separately, so ask a custom upholstery shop for advice.

Yes, this is how they come, heater and seat leather.
