Default rear spoiler

I was trying to take my rear spoiler off last night but ther seems to be some sort of safety clip that must be squeezed in order to remove it, I don't know where I can get pliers that thin to fit between the trunklid and the spoiler. anybody have any experience removing a rear spoiler?
Once I get it off I'll have a silver rear spoiler off a 98 GS400 if anybody wants to buy it.

Just curious why you're taking it off? You have a new spoiler?

I was also planning to take my rear wing off too. I just like the flush look. You will have to fill in the trunk holes and buy a new rear deck with the third brake light.

A while ago, I wanted to take off my wing, but its gonna be a pain in the @SS to cover up the 3 holes on each side of the trunk. Its gonna cost me around $500-$600 to paint the whole trunk and fill in the holes.

Gain, I am in the same position as you are. BUT, how are we going to cover up the holes and make it look clean??. The only way I know is getting a new trunk-lid

the color of the spoiler is silver. I plan on welding the holes shut, putting primer on for the winter and repainting my whole car silver graphite blue metallic in the spring.

Default deck

Hey gain,

if you dont mind me asking, how much did the rear deck cost you. I was planning to do this but do you think it would be better to just swap trunk lids and decks with someone who wants the spoiler?

TLEX
It would be better to trade the rear deck panel and I'm kicking myself for paying $132 for the brake light and $293 for the panel before seeing if anybody would trade those parts, Doh. After looking at the trunk I think it's easier to weld the holes shut since I'm going to repaint my whole car in the future anyway. If bangbang001 wants to trade trunks though and we are geographically close maybe we can have the fun of rewiring our trunks and switching the locks?
