Default Changing foglight colour

As some of you are aware, I am a new member of the Lexus family (although long overdue).

My GS300 has (I think - I have difficulty telling colours) orange foglights. Is this is the bulb, or the colour of the housing?
I would like to make this white.

Cheers,

Lozz

Wow never knew the GS came with orange lights. Take off the two screws on the front of the fog lights, take off the fog lights and look at the housing. If there is a yellow lens inside the housing then you have to buy new clear fog light housings to get them clear.

Acutally, yellow would be a more accurate description of the colour. It's a bit hard to tell for me. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ok, pulled it out and saw that the bulb is normal. Got the rubber seal off and everything, but have no idea how to get to the yellow glass (or whatever it is).
Does anyone have any pics showing how to disassemble the foglight assembly?

Thanks,

Loryan

You don't have to disassemble anything. Just take fog light housing and look inside to see if there is a yellow lens inside the housing.

If there is a yellow lens inside, you will not be able to take it out. You would have to bake the housing in order to pry it apart to take out the housing. Your best bet is to either try to break the lens inside and take out the pieces or just buy a new clear housing.

Why is it that some vehicles come with the yellow foglights and others come with the white foglights?

What is the OEM color for the foglights?

The HID equipped 2GS and 1IS came with yellow fog light housings because HID lights don't light up the road well in poor lighting conditions such as in rain so the yellow light is supposed to help where the HID falls short.

Thanks for the info. Still not sure why they just wouldn't use white vs. yellow!?

I don't like the look of having bright white HID's or regular halogens with yellow colored fog lights. To make the fog lights blend in better with my headlights, I removed the stock fog light bulbs and replaced with SilverStars.

Oh wow. I'd love to see some pics of the silverstars in the foglights.

Just bought the Silverstar Ultra's that replaced the regular SilverStar's for my headlights. I'll do the same with the foglamps too later. I know it's daytime but in a hour and a half it'll be dark and I'll take another shot.
