If you want the same size all around, 9 is as wide as you can go. If not, widest you can do is 9 front and 10 back. Wider rims allows/requires wider (more expen$ive) tires.

Wider rims fill out the wheel wells better, although this also depends on offset, but a 9 on the back is going to look a whole lot better than an 8.

The common stagger is 8.5 front and 9.5 back - guess you can't get that?

With wider tyres, you get more traction. Usually when people put different size of tyres front and rear, they want performance. The advantage for having the same size all around is that you can rotate the tyres every now and then.

Keep in mind that bigger tyres do cost a little more expansive.

I heard a lot of folks go with the 8.5/9.5 staggered setup. Has anyone actually put 9's on the front and if so, what tire size fits without rubbing? Also, if you go 10's in the back do you need to go wider than the 275/35?

I am running OZ Opera's on my car.

Fronts: 8.5-18
Rears: 10-18.

Tires are SO2's Pole Positions.
Fronts: 245/40
Rears: 295/35

This setup works perfectly for me. Everything fits.

Michael

If you don't go to track, 18x8.5 all around is suitable for daily normal driving.

However, if you do go to track, having a wider tyres at the rear DOES help.

18x8.5 f 18x9.5 or 18x10 r is a good combo.

Anything larger than 18" is not recommended. Mostly for the look.

I would go 8.5 front and 10 in the back. That way you can play with your tire sizes.

If you want one size tire to go all around, I'd say 8.5 should be your minimum width.

8.5's all around wouldn't look too bad
