98 GS400: 223,000 beautiful kilometers, or 138,595 ugly miles, your choice.

that sounds about right. i just picked up my 98 GS4 w/ 90k for 15k.

there's a member here who's gotten over 312000 miles on his. check the "white or green gauges" thread, and you'll see a pic of his odometer on there.

make sure you do the fulll 90k mile service when the time comes. once the timing belt/water pump have been replaced, its only preventative maintenance for the next 100k miles after that.

so yes, your car should last you just fine.

Welcome to CL.
Please do a search first. Seems this gets asked all the time. The members name is HIGHMILES I believe. 320K+. He listed what he has changed and what not...

So did HIGHMILES sell his car, or does he still have it?
Aside from the obvious maintenace stuff such as seals, waterpump, timing belt, and fluids. How about his tranny. Surely it needs a rebuild or something at that kind of mileage. The bands and packs in there are wear and tear items. Well, maybe it's just my driving style. I know my tranny will need an overhaul at 75-80K
