In the beginning, I always thought that Lexus cars were for the for the elite or even older type folks; men & women who are like in the 60's and 70's that have well paying jobs and high titles. During that time, those models years didn't sit well with me. They were still excellent cars but the overall design was not my cup of tea. It was until I saw the 2nd-Gen GS 300/400
(even the IS) and I was YES!! I can't just buy "any" car. There needs to be a certain look about a car which to me the 2nd-Gen GS has. Still the ES and LS series are not cars that I would consider buying. But even more I see guys in LS 400/430's dressing their cars up pretty good.

lexis11 inspired me, but i have not yet purchased one. I need to sell my current car and then i will finally get my gs. I will settle for no other car.
Thanks. I really loved my white car so sad I had to sell it although the 2003 gs430 I have now is a massive upgrade in power. I love it.
Good luck with your purchse.

I was going to say D-2!, but then I thought more people would recognize the car and the screen name as Dgot20's!

True it's an old thread but I also wasn't a member then and besides I had junk cars..

My inspriation : An old boss of mine bought a 2000 GS400 in SBM. It already had 5% tint and 20" chromes on it. I loved that car. I liked Lexus in general but when I layed my eyes on his and road in it the day he got it, I decided I wanted one. As the market came down and I started making more money, now seemed like the perfect oppertunity to one up and get a 2001 GS430. I wish I SBM though.

Current GS is stock other than aftermarket kicker speakers and tints. I do have a Mac Blick Roof spoiler coming in as a start to the changes in appearence..

Wringos ride was definitely one of the looks that inspired me. His exterior has a sporty yet luxurious feel.
But like everyone else, alot of other cars on here also make you want to raise the bar even higher. One of the best forums i have ever been apart of. Thanks everyone.

6 years later would be fun to do a "where are they now" thread out of this.

It was the commercial back in 97-98 where the gs400 heads down the dirt country road (something wicked this way comes) that caught my attention and I said one of these days. 14 years later that day came.

basicly all of the LIBERTY VIP cause they are getting very creative by going custom but keeping it very clean, much props....with that said, i could never drive that low. lol
i still built my car like the og's on here: for driving fast on twisty roads. lets not forget that when these cars originally came out they where the FASTEST SEDAN on the market.
