Hi everybody,
I am ready to take my car in for the 60,000 mile service but I dont know if I should pay this much. The dealership quoted me $1600. Is this the usual for the 60k? Seems kinda high to me. Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

If you live in the SF Bay Area, I would take it to Serramonte Lexus. It might be a little drive for you, but you get a loaner car. Ask for Mark Owen in Service. He'll set you up for a competitive price. Tell him you're from ClubLexus.
And if you want to be added to the SF Bay roster, pls PM me your name, email, hometown, model and year of your car.
Good luck.

I have both a GS and an LS. Just had the LS400 in for the 60K service. The dealer quoted me $1,200. When I looked at the manual, most of the work was inspection, so I asked them to quote me only for the specific tasks that I felt I needed the Lexus dealer to perform, i.e., plugs, transmission fluid change, etc. This reduced the cost to about $400. Many of the other items such as oil/filter change, tire rotation, wheel balance, I have performed else - where it is less expensive and usually performed quicker.
Do you really thing that in today's profit intensive environment that they perform all of those "inspections"?

In the east bay it's Pleasanton Lexus?
Serramonte is pretty good. They give loaners to people who didn't buy their cars there? I have not gotten a loaner Lexus from them yet. (And I bought my car there) I got a 4 banger camry when I brought it in for a 15k service, and a saab turbo wagon for another service. The turbo was pretty cool. Punch it and see the gauge go up was fun to watch.
