Default Gas additives, cleaners, and...

other stuff you can dump into your gas tank. Do any of you use any product religiously? If so, do you really see any kind of difference. I see so many different bottles that I am very skeptical whether they really work or not?

I used a bottle of Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner when I first bought the car. That is the only additive I have put in the car.

I'd stay away from the Octane Boosters and some of that crazy stuff... Octane Boosters/ Cleaners have a knack for burning the ends of fuel injectors and spark plugs.

i've been usin' valvoline max life recently, i used to do lucas but since their oil additives have had problems, i don't feel comfortable using their brand and i've heard that valvoline does make a difference in a positive way so i've been using that..

i didn't even know that octane boosters and other additives can burn the ends off the spark plugs and injectors, interesting stuff to know...

Higher octane burns tips of fuel injectors? From what I know the higher octane is only beneficial to FI cars since higher octane has more tolorance for heat and is less prone to premature iginition.

Imo lucas oil additive is great.... the octane boosters are ok .. i only add that when i dont see a shell gasoline station and i know the gas might be crappy at 91 octane....

If you do an oil change DO NOT waste your time adding it in esp.. when they are bout to drain it haha

do after a new oil change , service everything such as plugs, maybe a fuel filter ? if you havechecked in a while ect.....

lucas oil additive is NOT great... there was this test done with regular synthetic oil and same oil with the lucas additive, and the additive actually made things WORSE - i used to think lucas oil additive was good until I saw that demonstration.. bad bad bad.. something in the lucas additive lets more air get caught in the oil/additive blend and doesn't lubricate gears as well as just regular synthetic oil. i'll try to find the link for you to see for yourself...
