Whats up to all the Lex owners
I'm from Grand Rapids, MI and I've owned my 1998 GS400 for a little over a year now. I bought my first Lexus 3 years ago as a winter car. It was a 1994 LS400 with 150k and I got it dirt cheap from a doctor in Chicago. At the time I owned a black on black, supercharged, 1995 Buick Riviera. The Rivi only had 18k miles and was like brand new. After owning the LS400 for a year I sold the Rivi that had 20k miles to keep the Lex with tons of miles. As all of you know the quality of Lexus vs. a GM vehicle is no comparison. Made my perfect Rivi feel like a cheap POS. So long story short I sold the 94 LS after a year of trouble free driving and upgraded to a newer LS400 with only 60k miles, also bought for the deal in Chicago. Drove that one for 1 year and then took a GS400 for a test drive one day. Month later sold the LS400 hopped on a 30 min plane ride to Chicago to pick up my black on silver GS400. These cars are the perfect combination of sport and luxury.
Mods I've done so far.
18" Enkei LM1 rims w/Toyo Proxes
clear corners
Sylvania Silverstars
K&N FIPK
Borla SS Exhaust
I read a lot of info on here about all the different exhaust choices we have before I went with Borla. I bought my exhaust from ******************.com for $485 shipped. I was worried about all the old posts about crappy hanger brackets. For anyone interested in Borla the whole system was revised for our cars about 6 months ago. No brackets anymore, works pefectly with stock hanger system. Just bolt on and your done. Has a great sound, not too loud, and no drone on my car. Car defintely feels better after adding the exhaust to the K&N intake and resetting ECU.
For all you up north guys that that roll in the snow. I bought a set of Michelin Pilot PA2 winter tires for my stock 17's and they are awesome. Work great in the snow & ice but when its dry you can still go a 100 mph. Pricey $$$$$$$ but worth the money.
I will post some good pics when I can throw the rims back on and you guys make me spend all my spare$$$$ on the Lex!

Congrats again... I just bought a silver 400 last Thursday and I know what you mean about your Lexus making your other car feel cheap. My 400 makes my old 98 Accord coupe feel like it was crawling !

Welcome to CL.
That is great info. Thanks for sharing.
Also, you will need to host the pic in your sig somewhere (like the CL gallery). It won't show up with a local path. Just make sure the image (and the sig) fits the sig guidelines:
1) No images (single or combined) physically larger than 450 (wide) X 100 (tall)
2) Image file size no larger than 50K (single or combined)
3) A maximum of 8 lines of text, including blank lines
4) No for sale posts or advertising URL's in signatures unless you are a ClubLexus sponsor
5) PG-rated images signatures only
6) Macromedia Flash signatures are prohibited
