Do you guys think red calipers would look good on a gold (the light gold) GS400?

I think the stock color of the calipers is green, and its a very ugly green too ! I am thinking about painting mine some color.

I have seen many cars with red, but I think the red calipers look best on a silver car. I have also thought about simply painting them black, to make the chrome wheel stand out better.

What do you guys recommend?

Black...definitely black...

If you're going to sport the "look at my calipers" look of red, you'd better running some serious brakes! Who the hell really wants to HIGHLIGHT a stock caliper? Ya know what I mean?

Silver might not be too bad either...but I think Black is better...

Default red

I actually have red stock calipers. They don't look too bad. I mean they are no Porsche brakes with cross drilled rotors but it draws attention.

The way the G4 stops in stock form is pretty damn impressive; so why not? Just a thought.

Nanotech,

My deal with Ziel and the 996 Twin Turbo Porsche-Brembo brake kit is still good. The caliper will be either red or yellow.

I don't think red is really good for a Gold color, plus beige wouldn't really look all that great, because for me that's a "hint" of being "ricey"

I am just gonna paint mine black, that way, the parts behind the wheel will look nice, clean and black and the chrome wheel will show really well with no other color behind it to ofset the image !

Benny,

I doubt your red calipers are the stock color. I suspect the prior owner painted them.

1SICKLEX,

How long ago did you paint your calipers? Did you use high temp paint? I'd think that with the heat they absorb the paint will start to fail if it's not high temp.

RealMarty:

I think Benny means that he painted his "stock calipers" red. He wrote it that way because someone who posted a reply before him was commenting on how painting the stock calipers red, therefore, having red stock calipers, wouldn't look good. That's why he said that he has "red stock calipers" and they don't look too bad.

I am sure we all know that the GS doesn't come with red stock calipers.

I am going to use hi-temp paint, found at a specialty auto parts store (1500 degree Farenheit). I think Auto Zone - type places also sell them, but I only saw 1000 degree temp paint there.

i did in fact paint them with "hot paint" 1500 degree. Also painted the unsightly rusted spacer/er brakes on all four wheels after removing all the rust. they looked like 25 year old wheels of a datsun. painted them silver to match the car.
