u gotta be careful when putting on a carbon fiber hood....

many times it either wont fit rite, or the weave pattern of the carbon fiber goes different directions which doesn't look all too great.

But on black cars it looks pretty awesome....(w/ lots of other mods of course)

for the GS, it's more cosmetics than practicality. 3800+ lbs car, saving some 20 30 pounds won't matter much.

Default i have to disagree

first i think that you will be able to drop more than 20-30 lbs on a CF hood, further that is a considerable amount of weight. If you can drop 30 from the hood, 10 from a couple engine part replacements (intake for one) 30 from the interior, 30 from the trunk, 15 from the batt, and 25 from the spare tire (get a smaller spare) that is around 140 in weight saved. That is a noticable difference in the way the car feels. The rule i have heard is that for every 10 lbs you shed from the car that is equal to adding 1hp. Not that impressive until you drop 100 lb, but that is as much hp gained as a intake. The added bonus is that the missing 100 lb will be noticed in the corner where you will not notice the intake. Further more if you upgrade with lighter wheels, brakes, etc you are gaining even more hp. I understand Globes point, but that is like saying why add an intake which will only give you 10 hps on a 300 hp car. Just my opinion.

you might lost more than 20 or 30 lbs, but go to a buffet dinner and you'll gain that much

Plus, most people here will not go rip out their interior and trunk and stuff. That's why we got luxury cars in the first place, comfort and luxury. If we're going to the extent that we're getting rid of the back seats and throwing in roll cages then it's about time to get a real sports car.

I am not suggesting that you rip out the insides of your trunk (Not that you really need them for luxury, but whatever). But getting a lighter battery, smaller spare, etc does that detract from the luxury of your car? I guess it is all personal opinion.

OIC. Just getting rid of the excess junk rather than stripping away the necessities? Sounds good. I'll try that. (Start by taking out the 14 jackets I have in my trunk and my still wrapped textbooks.)

Aristov3o0,

What skirt package is that on your car and do you have side and back photos also??

After seeing the pic I guess I agree with you guys when you said that hood would look nice on a black GS.. Doesn't look bad on a white GS but not my cup of tea..
