for some reason i think the gs400 gets better gas mileage than the 300, if i would have known i would have gotten a 400, oh well, i was thinking cause its a big 6 cylinder that has to work harder than a 8 cylinder motor wasting more gas, could be wrong, but my 300 gets 250 to the full tank while everybody else talks about getting 400, this sucks

the v8 is rather 18 23 i believe and the i6 is 18 24. almost the same. i think you end up using more gas for the gs3 coz' you always have to punch it just to get up to speed while the v8 is happily crusing

i have gs4 and is3, both eat gas about the same

That was not smart man you could've damage your fuel pump, and that could've been expensive.

Good grief...you guys who get 400+ miles to the tank, that is IMPRESSIVE!

I'm always at 1/4 tank right around 245 miles....and I drive (95% of the time) where my gears shift under 2000 RPM, so I'm no Speed Racer...

I need to move to the mountains...haha

actually if i just drive on the highway without traffic (and if i can refrain myself from gunning the car a few times here and there), putting 400 miles in a tank is definitely doable

though now i always get gas as soon as it hits the 1/4 mark @_@

400+ on a tank is very do-able if you have lotsa highway in it. I just returned from EOS with 370 mi and a quarter tank on the gauge!! Had some mountains, traffic jams @ 5/405, and gunned it a few times. My longest road trip to date.

Haha, I was reading it and saw someone saying 2.50 / gallon, and I'm thinking 'wtf here in Australia I pay 1.50/ L' (about $6AUD / gallon), then saw the date.

My GS4 runs out not long after the low fuel light comes on.

I don't know if I have ever been able to put more than 17-18 gallons in ever. I thought I had read it was a 20-20.5 gallon tank. Maybe I read it wrong.

The GS has essentially 2 gas tanks, a left and right. It has a siphon jet so it can pull from the other tank (the one the pump isn't in), I think mine doesn't suck well off the other side one (right I think). I need to get the back seat out and pull the covers to see what is up on mine.

Ive probably run out 5-6 times now. I can't push the car when that light comes on AT ALL. If it comes on, I stop at the first station I find.

My GS400 is the same. A few times now I have run out of gas within about 10-15 miles of the low fuel light coming on. Once I was out of gas before the light even came on and the gauge was still showing about 1/8 tank left. I had to get my tank rebuilt about a year ago because it was leaking. I think the siphoning hasn't worked right ever since. I am also think maybe my fuel pump is getting weak.

My friend at Lexus advised looking into the tanks and see if the siphon jet has rusted or something happened to it. I need to, just haven't had time....

is this siphon jet in the 430 also or just the 400? I know the 400s tend to have issues with the fuel filters and fuel pumps which I THOUGHT they changed something in the 430 so it doesnt happen anymore?

Both, should be the identical part.

My GS has nearly 240k miles and I have no evidence the fuel filters or pump have ever been changed. The filter will probably get changed this summer just because....

I'll ask my lexus guru.
