130mph in a GS300! WOO HOOO!
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give the heads up to everyone that a GS300 will go 130mph with absolutely no problems. I know they're rated with a top speed of 14Xmph however this is the fastest I've ever gone in a car and I don't plan on going as fast again.
One quick thing though- the stock suspension has gotta go. The floating feeling is so dangerous at speed and through curves due to the bob/weave motion the car goes through. When the car hits a bump or goes through the natural undulations of the road, the weight on the front tires varies and the amount of effort applied to the steering wheel to keep the same direction also varies and the driver must keep the steering wheel motionless no matter what he/she feels as the car bobs up and down after a bump.
To fix this issue: I have eibach springs in the garage and am waiting for christmas to buy myself the bilstein shocks.
General stats for my car: 17'' factory rims, upgraded stereo (AVIC-N1), and I had JUST BOUGHT (same day) new tires before doing my 130mph run. Tires: Yokohama ES100 235/45/r17. These tires actually have a "W" rating which is a higher speed rating than "Z" and they are SUPER sticky.
I know I know- for those of you who are thinking 'you freakin retard, you could have killed someone!'... I know and that's why I never want to do it again.
I'll post a photo that I took from my phone when I get back from my vacation.

Sorry guy I get my GS300 up to 125 damn near every day. The car has no problem getting to 120-130 on the highway. The fastest I have seen in my car is 145 with some 18in. wheels and 152 with 20 in. wheels. I am thinking the difference in the speedo readings is because of the size in the tires. I still have to race someone located in Michigan with my GS300, because alot of people say it's slow but I have beat some cars I heard others (on this board) say are quick.

Quick questions:
What kind of brake setup do you have? I like the idea of going fast but when one goes fast, one should stop fast as well so I'm thinking about upgrading when I'm done with the current brake setup.
Have you done anything to your suspension?
Have you done anything to your engine? (I had an intake but took it off because I didn't really feel a difference, I just heard a difference - btw- these new Yokohamas are super quiet.)
Why is it that so few GS300 owners race out their cars? If the n/a Supra can be super decked out in the engine department for less than 2k- why can't the GS3 do the same?

my stock gs430 is smoother at 125 than 80. at 125 thing just wants to keep pulling(for a long time). I'm sure I could find the 149 limiter if I wanted. Sorry 300s, but- ba bye

If you tell me you have no speeding tickets, I'm simply going to conclude that conservative drivers get the most tickets and call it a day.
Yes I have speeding tickets (3) to be exact. They all are for no more than 5mph over, you believe that. I drive like a bat out of hell every day and have never received a ticket for more tham 5mph over, so yes only conservitive drivers get tickets.

car seemed pretty stable even at high speeds...
