Default Aristo cost compared to Lexus

Who knows how much an Aristo costs compared to a GS. Since it's a Toyota not a Lexus is it cheaper?
Do they make a 430 V8 version?
Here's a link to the Aristo homepage. It's got cool pics even if you don't read Japanese!

My friend was telling me how his Dad's Crown has a 3D navi that shows EVERYTHING.

He wasn't kidding ... check out the nav in the Aristo ...

As for cost, I can try have him check the site ... he can read Japanese.

Default Price of Aristo

The price of an Aristo ranges anywhere from 3.8 to 4.8 million Yen. Under the current exchange rate the comes out to be $34,793 to $43,951.

If you drag your pointer over the links on the toyota webpage you can navigate your way around the webpage by looking at where the link goes. When you place your pointer over a link on the bottom of your explorer window you will see what the address is you're going to, thats how i navigated my way around their webpage.

Also they do not make a 4.3 liter 8 in Japan. The Aristo only comes with a 2jz-ge or 2jz-gte. The crazy thing is from the factory you can only get the 2jz-gte with an auto tranny in Japan. Here is the link if you want to see for yourself.

Also while you're there check out the Crown Athelete. Its sweet!!!

"Vertex Edition" (mine) comes with cloth seats (supposedly sportier), black wood interior trim, 17inch wheels and metal vertex badgings on the side.

The Non-vertex edition which is only slightly cheaper comes with leather (more elegant), red brown wood grain (also more elegant) and 16inch wheels and no badgings on the side.

The same goes for the 2JZ-GE JZS160 (your version of Lexus GS300).

As for Navigation, it depends on the software, obviously the local Japanese GPS software is A LOT more sophisticated, which allows them to do all that cool jazzy 3-d mapping of the local area.

My brother was offered a 3-camera parking system (left, right and back) which helps you to precisely park your car. The camera even has guiding imaginary lines to see how you line up to the curb, to the car next to you, and it calculates how close you are to the wall behind you as you are backing into a parking space. It was a $5000 option and my brother decided to forego that option. He said he's not that dumb that he needs the help of 3 cameras just to park his car.

What's wrong with this picture? The Toyota model seems more sophisticated than the Lexus. Cloth seats cost more-that's strange
What kind of horsepower numbers

Yup, surprisingly the Toyota versions offer more goodies than the Lexus versions. The Lexus here can be had with cloth, it's just the dealers insists that all luxury cars have leather.

Simple: in Japan, there's no such thing called "Lexus" (even though that will change in 2005). So there's no such thing either called "Toyota is more sophisticated than Lexus". Lexus simply doesn't exist. Period.

Another thing is this: The cloth seats are meant to grip/hug you body better than the slippery leather, which is why they offer it. Some people prefer the cloth more because they are more spirited drivers. The markup in price is because of the 17in wheels option, and has got nothing to do with the interior trim.

Horsepower: The V300 model comes stock from the factory with the under-rated 280ps (276hp) 2jz-gte twin turbo powerplant and 4-sp auto with F1-style tiptronic steering wheel buttons. The S300 model is your local GS300 2JZ-GE powerplant with 220hp I believe?

I have to admit that parking system is pretty neat but 5k is a little too much. The FX45 has the same parking option- saw it in the commercial. Looked awesome- yellow guide lines & all.
