Default Slight movement while parked.

Like the title says. Well, we came home and parked the GS in my slite inclined driveway. I took my foot off the brakes and opened my door. I noticed the car started to roll back, and jumped back into seat. pressed the brakes. I looked at the shift **** to made sure it was in parked. I slowly released released the brakes, and the came to a stop. I noticed this just recently because my wife drives the GS a her daily commuter. Is this normal for GS to roll back 2-4 inches when its in parked?

Yeah it's normal. Something to do with the auto transmission in park and locking itself up and on an incline it might need a couple inches of roll to fully lock. Don't worry about it.

Agree 100%. On any incline, push the park brake BEFORE letting your foot off the main brake pedal.

when i put the e brake on and then let off the "main" brakes my car sometimes make this loud creaking sound..is there a way to adjust the parking brake so that i dont have to press the pedal far down..maybe half way? i think that would solve my problem. thanks.

You're hearing the creak as the car can still move against the drum park brake, pretty much defeating the purpose.

Why does it matter how far the park brake pedal has to go down, or can't you reach? (Not trying to be a wise guy) I press it down HARD.

i thought by adjusting the parking brake i can get a better "bite" when the parking brake is applied. i dont like the creaking sound..how can i get rid of it? can i replace the parking drum brake?

No creak if you put the brake on harder.

As far as adjusting the brake - that was possible on my old Legend but I don't know if it is on the Lexus. You shouldn't need to replace the brake that's for sure.
