tytgs300 -- is removing the door panel difficult? I wanted to replace my front door speakers myself, but I was afraid if I started taking apart the door, either I wouldn't be able to get it back together, or if I was able to get it back together, it wouldn't be quite right and would rattle.

Also, as an aside, not to hijack the thread, but once the door panels are off, is the speaker swap a fairly easy thing to do? I'm pretty non-educated when it comes to stereos and speakers. Do the factory ones just unplug or do you need to cut and splice wires?

if you have worked on cars before, taking the panel apart shouldn't be hard. the firsrt time it took it off it wasn't that bad. just need common sense

once it's off, the speaker is pretty obvious. i think you can get to it no problem

Locating that screw behind the door lock was the hardest part for me...lol. It’s pretty easy to take off and slide back on. After you got all screws undo, lift the panel upward from the rear first then toward the rear view mirror. This door is easier than other cars cuz they dont have locking groves/ cliffs. Once slide out, you will see that tiny 4.5" spkr and it's just a matter of unscrew it and unplug the wires from the spkr. Make sure u push those 3 nylon thingy (located toward the front of the door) back in to avoid rattling. some cars used too many of these crap and ppl normally break them when they remove it and too lazy to replaced it when they put it back, therefore, their doors will rattle.

it'll take a pro about 2 mins to take a door panel off, the rear ones are even easier,we just took them off today to paint the wood trim same color as the car,
