Default Optitron gauges...Not bright enough.

I have 135k miles on my GS3 and occasionally my gauges don't quite seem to be as bright as they used to. Actually sometimes they're fairly dim and difficult to see. I have the **** turned up to the max, but it doesn't seem to help. I was wondering if they run on bulbs or something that I could replace to get that new look back to the gauges?

Secondly: In my radio display, lets say the station is 87.7, well the bottom line in the "8" is missing. One of the LCD's or LED's that's back there is out. Is this something the dealer might be able to fix without replacing the whole radio. It's sort of annoying, but if a $500 new radio is the only thing that's going to fix it, I can certainly live with it.

Thanks

I don't know about the optitron but the LCD can be replaced on the radio. Pricing somewhere between $100 - $150. I can't remember the exact price.

I have that problem with mine, especially the middle gauge. No fix I've seen of... one of these days I'm going to coerce OLT into cracking open the GS gauges and seeing if there is anything he can do about it.

There are a bunch of old threads about it if you care to search... here's one I remembered participating in and found by searching for 'dim gauge'

this may sound weird, but i replied last night about the gauges, well I went out last night and they were dim at night time, but tonight after leaving work, it was snowing real bad here in michigan alot of sleet,
so I put the car no snow mode, and the gauges just stayed bright like they are in the daytime, I dont know
if the snow mode has anything to do with it, but I dont know.

From time to time,
it happens to me. I think that's something to do with temp.
cooler the weather , it appears dimmer
