My fuel pump died the other day so I ordered a Walbro. It finally came in yesterday so I installed it today. Yeah the Walbro is overkill right now but its one less thing I will have to worry about when I do the turbo swap.

22 year old original fuel pump!!

New Walbro 255 lph fuel pump

So happy she is running again!!!

Replaced my leaking heater control valve and hoses. It was kind of pain but it wasn't terrible.

Default what did you do today to your gs

hi,,
Fitted a new thermostat to try and fix an erratic temp gauge today. Don't think its fixed the problem though

Cleaned EGR valve on Friday, it was very messy. Also changed the serpentine belt and tensioner to try and stop an annoying noise ... that didn't work either.

It's great when you do some mechanics and it sorts the problem ... less good when it doesn't.

PREVENTATIVE VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

Ordered an AC compressor and dryer since the AC went out the other day. The car is for sale and you can't sell a car in Georgia in the summer without AC!

FYI I had an annoying belt squeal too. I checked tensioner and all the pulleys. It ended up being the harmonic balancer. The rubber had come apart and caused my noise. Also, since the water pump is drive belt driven, that could contribute to your overheating. If the crank pulley isn't spinning with the crank because of the torn rubber, it won't turn the water pump.

Got the hub for the ATI Damper off (so I could machine 0.01 off of it), Installed the factory heater tap, installed the cam gears, the new timing belt components, the new timing belt, cleaned up the covers, put them back on, ground off 26 years of wear from the accessory tensioner, test the possible fit of the new intake plenum, mounted the GReddy pullies.

Still a lot of work to do, but at least there's progress. After I get a proper manifold (my Boost Logic didn't clear the steering shaft with my Precision 46mm wastegate), I'll get the S300-SX (66mm) mounted and properly plumbed for oil. After that, I'll get the Mishimoto R-Line intercooler mounted, start running the new wiring for the ProEFI128, pull the -8AN fuel feed and -6AN return for the 2100cc injectors. Then it's on to the interior work.

I figure I'll be driving it again sometime in the 2020's.

So where did you get the heater valve and how hard was that? No cam gear covers?
If it were me, I would definitely get a new accessory belt tensioner. There's been several revisions since the original.

Good luck with the standalone install. Those can be a lot of wiring.

Ordered from https://www.amayama.com/en

I will put a cam gear cover on it before it runs. It's nowhere near running right now.

Good looking out on the tensioner.
