Default Adjusting distributor for 93, safe angle?

I was thinking about adjusting my distributor after doing the cap, rotor, coil and plugs. I only run 93 octane in the car and was wondering if anyone had any experience in adjusting these? I dont want to run into detonation, and youtube isnt exactly the most reliable source. I read on an igniton coil thread about someone running 17 degrees of advance, and was wondering if I should be weary of going past that. also, does anyone know the stock timing angle?

Stock timing is 10 degress +/- 2 degrees. I personally am running about 17 degrees without any problems. If you are using 93 octane you will be just fine. At 17 degrees with 89 octane you with experience detonation under heavy load.
