I agree completely with Rico. I have an aftermarket JVC deck and I have Infinity components up front, coax in the back, and a 12" Pioneer free air sub in the deck. It actually sounds quite good, and the equipment was not too expensive. However, if you get someone to install it for you that can be a little expensive. For instance, I paid about $300 in just labor, but all of my stuff is nice, clean, trouble free, and sounds great.

It would give you a little more volume, but chances are you'll be placing the tweets high on the door similar to the placement of the front doors. Think about that for a moment. Think about where those tweets would be in relation to your left ear. You may as well wear one headphone.
Put the separates up front and use a coax in the rear. It won't be perfect, but it doesn't sound bad. I had competed a few times with this set up before...
I went a little more extreme. I have 5 1/4s in the doors playing mid-bass (all the doors). I have no tweets in the rear at all. Then, 5 1/4s in kick panels and tweeters in the a-pillar. This is a little more extensive than most are willing to go.
The Sound Domain site seems to have some troubles right now...but when it comes back up, my page is...

There are pictures of my doors there on page 3 I believe.

Hey John,
No, I don't have anything in my stock tweeter location, well, I actually have some black carpet in there to camoflage the empty space. Eventually I will be putting voltage and temperature meters there to monitor the amplifiers.
John, I can't promise you that we have any left, but, let me see if we have some of the custom tweeter mounts that we had made to convert separates to coax. We had them made because we were going to use larger Q-series tweeters. Or you can make mounts yourself with the metal backstrap that comes with the radios. Just put the strap across the woofer and either bolt (if the tweet has the rear bolt) or use clear silicone to attach the tweeter where you want it.

Nice setup Rico I need to change my sub setup soon, bandpass maybe a good idea for me too to have no rattle problems and strong tight bass. Did you need to Dynomat anything? I assume you can't get to your spare? How well does the stock sub hole port?
Seminole: The 12' sub fits with no modification. I have a 12' Kenwood Free Air in mine, all i did was drill holes for the sub to fit on the rear deck. The stock Nakamichi sub is 11' and the stock hosing takes another inch leaving room for a 12' without any "Real" modification.
The general shop charge for a custom HU dashkit is $200. But you can make one yourself if you are good with stuff like that.

you should see my trunk. i have about 150 sq feet of dynamat sound deadening in my trunk/back seat/rear deck. also 3 cans of expanding foam. absolutly 300% decrease in rattling and 150% decrease in road noise
