Yes everything is pretty much done. My welder wasn't happy with the way the right rear corner bracket sat on the rail so he is on the process of creating an all new bracket. He is even playing with the idea of producing "D.I.Y" brackets. I am taking lots of pictures to document everything.

If he produces D.I.Y. brackets I'm in. Even though I need to get a GS300 first LOL. But Is there any weight loss/savings to be had here?

I have not actually weighed the seats but I can tell you from carrying them around that there is a pretty good weight difference.

I'm also in for the DIY brackets.

If there's a decent weight loss I'm all the more interested. My next question since I might have missed it though is how did you mount the seat belts. I know you said the original seats are on the side of the seat instead of the B pillar.

Sorry for slow updates. I have been insanely busy. I bought another set of seats for my welder to work on the D.I.Y brackets. I meant to ask him about an estimate for pricing but I forgot. I will ask when I see him this week. While I was getting the second set of seats I also realized that that 1 Gen IS300 had heated seats as an option so I bought a third set of seats that are heated so I am working on making the seat heaters work with my stock 1GS seat heater switch and system. Once again sorry for the slow updates...but this is still happening!!!!!! Thanks for all of the support and kind words!!!

Did you buy all the 1st gen IS300 seats in the nation? Wish I could find some for cheap.

Default Update?

Was seriously considering the swap. Would love to see your progress... Do you have a final DIY product yet?

The seats are in and fully functional including the heater. My welder made 2 sets of D.I.Y brackets but he is hesitant to sell them because of legal issues that could come up if something bad were to happen during a crash. I understand where is coming from so I have pushed him to sell them.
