This may move to Car Chat, but the 1st Gen GS was influenced by Italian car designer Giugiaro. It was a looker in its time but never really got traction. That's why you've never seen one.

In a way, the 4GS is a throwback to the 1GS design since the 2GS and 3GS had quad headlights while the 4GS and 1GS make do with 2 headlights.

I've had each generation GS. Each gen has it's strong and weak points it's been a blessing to beable to experience every model long term. 4th Gen is my favorite overall thus far 2nd gen takes 2nd place

That's a very enviable position to be in. Good to hear that the 4th Gen and 2nd Gen are the best because those are the only ones I've owned. I wasn't in a financial position to buy a 1st Gen and when the 3rd Gen came out I wasn't impressed with the driving experience. Yes, the 4th Gen is the best yet, but that 2nd Gen was also something really special. I still see a ton of them on the road too so we know they are bulletproof.
