Default GS300 2JZ Swap issues

Hi name is Chris. Im working on a guys 89 s13 240sx with a GS300 2JZ swap from a 95.

Harness is by Chasebays

Engine had a blow HG but would still start up, idle and was driven before being pulled.
HG and timing belt were both replaced. Mechanical timing is spot on all marks line up. Ignition timing is close enough it should start and run.
ECU has constant power. switch 12 and Ground on the main wires. Ive checked them all
Fuel pump is wired off the key to turn on and stay on.

Issue

The car will start and fire up. Rev on its own to about 3k then die immediately
If you pump the throttle it will sometime t ry to stay running but will die in about the same amount of time if not slightly more. No matter how fast you pump or how much gas you give it, the car will die.
I unplugged the MAF to test if it was faulty with same results.
I unplugged the TPS sensors and get the same results.

I read on other swaps to check the Igniter return wire at the ECU. Not sure what to look for if its 12v or what.

Its just really confusing how well it fires right up but then dies right away with no way to keep it running. Its almost like the Injectors or Coil stops firing.

Honestly it sounds to me like there's an issue with fuel. First thing to check is going to be the fuel filter. If not the fuel filter check and make sure your pump is actually staying on. My conquest had the same problem. For some reason when the key would turn on, the pump would work for about 5 seconds, the engine would rev, then everything turns off. I had to hotwire the fuel pump to make sure it stays on and it worked.

Unplugging the tps or maf and that giving you the same results would not eliminate them as the issue. Try replacing them with new replacements from your local parts store to see if you get any better results...if not just return them, at least you would have definitely eliminated that as an issue imo

Supras do exactly that when the afm is bad or disconnected. Check your afm wiring and swap in a known working one.

I agree with the AFM. Either that or low fuel flow.
