Default 1993 GS300 w58 swap A/T ECU

I am planning on doing a W58 swap with A/T ECU, I have heard that this will cause CEL codes because the ecu doesn't see a trans. Is there some sort of work around that will allow me to use the A/T ECU and not have it trip the CEL? I live in CA so I have to worry about this because of the smog checks.
thanks for any help.

As far as I remember the ecu's are the same. Just different harness. So on the 2j you can run without and be OK. Hope someone else can confirm this for me.

So the issues using an A/T computer on a manual swapped car and the CEL is only on the OBD2 computers?

Awesome. This means I won't have to try and get an auto Ecu. So the only wiring involved is the neutral switch, reverse lights, and speed sensor right?
