I connected everything right and even tried putting my buddies deck in which he had wired for his car and still couldnt get any power on either stereo.

I have no idea what is going on so if any of you have any suggestions please throw them out here.

If you just installed a new headunit it won't work. I had to install all new speakers because the factory Nakamichi speakers weren't compatible with the headunit I put in.

I also got rid of the factory amp and installed an aftermarket one for my sub and just have my headunit powering the speakers.

It may be as simple as switching out the speakers for aftermarket ones that are compatible with the headunit, or you might have to go as far as bypassing the amp. Stereo work in these cars are a real pain in the ***.

These cars aren't a plug and play affair. What wires did you splice into behing the deck? There should be a blue or gray connector that was on the back of the deck, you'll need the following.

Constant 12V (+) - Blue/Yellow
Ignition Switched (ACC) 12V (+) - Grey
Antenna - Pink/Blue AND Pink/Green
ILL 12V (+) - Green
Ground ( - ) - ground on body


Also make sure the antenna is plugged into the back of the deck, some decks won't turn on without it.

Yes you really need at least a test light to install on these. The nak speakers work fine with aftermarket deck just gotta bypass the amp in the trunk. Most people are under the misconception that the front are 2ohm and they won't work but both the woofer and tweeter are 2ohm waited in parallel which gives you a 4ohm load. These types of issues are why a good MECP installer is recommended.

Thanks for the replies, I ended up getting it all to work. Now my problem is the amp pop when the radio turns on? I hear you need to buy a 5v regulator and install that in... if anyone knows more about this please give me your input!
