Default Which water pump is the right one?

yet again i run into another problem, i ordered a 2jzge water pump and it looked nothing like the one i pulled out, and here's why:
the mounting holes matched except for 3 or 4 of them
the fins were short and small, compared to the ones on the wp i pulled out, which were long

I called the seller and they said that people always have these problems because there's variations, anyways they refunded my money and i got to keep it (woo hoo!) so now I'm looking for another water pump and all the ones i see all look the same as the one i previously got which didn't match, so I'm confused on what to do. Just checked rockauto and all their water pumps look the same, nothing close to my original one, is there a specific part number on these? or do i have to get the back housing for this different looking water pump? any input will be helpful, and i'll put pictures up in a couple mins so you sese what i'm saying...

Here's the one i pulled out

Here's the one they sent me, and the same one i see all over the internet

What are you trying to do??? Are you swapping a water pump on an Aristo turbo swap? Changing the water pump on a turbo car, or just a new water pump on a non-turbo motor??? If you are changing to a supra water pump for the Aristo motor swap you have to buy the backing plate for the water pump as well or it wont work. Bolts up enough but will NOT cool the motor enough. If you are trying to swap a supra turbo pump for another you have to make sure what year it is. There is a difference in the turbo years towards the end. If you are doing a new water pump into the non-turbo car you HAVE to use the non-turbo pump. The fan blades come out farther for those than the turbo model due to the different housing (backing plate). Just went through this whole BS deal on my swap so its fresh. Bought three different pumps to finally get one to work.

Absolute best way to make life easier is to buy a pump that has the backing plates already with it. They are in the 120-140 area. Anything in the 50-80 area is gonna be a front pump only so there is a chance it wont fit into the housing (Backing plate) that you already have on the motor.

Your first pic looks like an Aristo pump, the second looks like a Supra turbo pump. At least thats exactly how my sets looked...

I got my pump from rockauto a year ago now and have been fine. There are two different ones, 10-bolt and 11-bolt. If this is just the stock wp then either one will fit. Did you try and bolt it up already? Here's my thread on the same topic.

Worst case scenario they just sent you the wrong pump and you have to order a new one.

I'm gonna go from the start of the story, this is a neglected gs, it's a 93 but from what little information i got it has a 95 2jzge, so no turbo, if you're saying the first pump looks like an aristo one then i'm guessing the guy before the guy i bought it from swapped it out, i'm just doing regular waterpump not really swapping out, i guess i should go with a gte one then, it just sucks because everytime i take my car apart i get surprises and not good ones....

yes i know you're thinking it's been definetely more than an hour lol but i had a crazy week, however here the pictures and if you use the gates gte water pump with this backing plate i suggest you shave the fins off a little bit because they slightly rub
