Fog light upgrade
Anyone here change there foglights to something aftermarket yet?? i mean the whole housing not just the bulb. i'm looking for a good fog light housing application preferbly 9006 so i can put my current HID's in there since i will be having a extra set of 9006 HID's after i do my retro.
My current fog light setup is bright but not enough for me. here is my current setup
Stock housing
Glare guard removed
Piaa super Plasma's H3
i was thinking of eigther drilling the whole bigger and splicing the wires and trying to fit my 9006 HIDs in the stock housing but i figured the stock housing would not direct the light where i want it to go.
Does anyone know of a 9006 Foglight with projectors. my main concern on my car is my lights as many of you know. LOL. i drive in very dark places often and like to see where i'm going

if you look into the foglight from the back (through bulb socket hole)...you'll see that there is a metal "blocker" that keeps the light from shining directly out of the foglight. Instead, the only light sent out is what is reflected from the back of the housing.
I just bent the glare shield out of the way and viola! brighter foglights. Looking at the fogs, you can see the bulb through the glass rather than seeing the shield.
I have not had any problems with glare on other drivers since doing this mod.

Jmai,
If you opt for the 9006 and end up drilling the stock housing you should still be able to aim the lighting with the factory adjustment but up or down only. What I ended up doing with mine was lay over an amber lense protector instead of the ordinary clear film. Check out the attached image.

what kind of front kit is that? is that the factory fog?? well i was planning to put my current 9006 HID in there and i love the color of my current HID 5300k check out my other thread. so i don't really want to put a yellow film over it.

i heard the stock fog light won't fit onto that kit that is the reason why i didn't get it. i had and i still believe i do have this chance to pick up a free front bumper. but i didn't want it because the stock fogs didn't fit. and also would look funny with my stock rims hieight and only mod was a front kit. Oh, so the JDM fogs are curved and the stock ones are the boring square ones.
I like geees300's setup. Very tite. Only prob is, if I modded the fogs then I would then have to figure out how to get FOGS+parking lights only.
hey mischief, does it have the wiring diagram for the headlights in your CD-book?

has any1 install HID without removing the glare guard in the fog light?
I don't want to do anything but install the 35Watt HID and that's it. But I afraid it might be too hot and melt the fog housing.

That's ironic, cuz I'm missing that same piece, but on the driver's side. Have you tried to source a replacment yet? Maybe we can go in together and split up a set if you or I can find one?
