Default Tein Coilover

Anyone use Tein Coilover on 1st Gen GS3?
I am sure they made this setup but they are not showing in the Tein USA website.

Thumbs up

here are a few links...they're from the tein japan site, but they actually made quite a few coilovers for the jzs-147.

Tein Type CS
Tein Type RA
Tein S.tech Springs
Tein Type HA
Tein Type NA

They you can also go to their product description page to find out what the differences are between the types... http://www.tein.co.jp/productse.html

hope this helps you out

Default Coilovers.

I've never seen Tein on a first Gen. GS, as a matter of fact I've never seen them on a Lex period.
But mischief, you've got a hot car.
Sorry to get off the topic here, but do you have any pics
of your car? If you do post them up for us, please?
Regards.

I know the Tein HA's are very popular with the 2nd gen GS's. I thought I read in one of the old threads that the Tein's didn't fit the 1st gen. I guess that was wrong.

I'm thinking about replacing my Eibachs with some coilovers, too.

Tein make coil-over for JZS147, just they are not avaliable in USA. I think at that time, Tein wasn't introduced to the US market yet, so they don't bring in any. Maybe we can get special order from them.

Any idea what kind of price range we're talking about here?

im pretty sure that if you contact their sales department, they could probably work something out with you regarding bringing the coilover to the states. if you look around at some of the local performance stores in your area, you can most likely find a store that will have them brought in for you. i found that a few stores in hawaii will have them special ordered for me, but for me, it just wasn't cost effective considering I'm not planning to race my car anytime soon . if you take the current exchange rate, this is how much the Type HA's would cost...msrp:

<snip from cnn.com>
CURRENCY CONVERTER RESULTS

Monday, September 2, 2002

175000 Japanese Yen = 1478.04 US Dollar

<snip>

then you can figure out another $100-200+ to have something as heavy as coilovers air mailed to the states. so, as far as a price range goes, i would say between $1500 to $2000 for a set of the Type HA coilovers :eek: . or if you have any friends going to japan for a vacation anytime soon, you can have them pick you up a set .

<off subject>
thanx for the compliments ppl...ill try to get some pics up as soon as the board lets me use the img tag again

Tein USA can probably get you set for closer to $1200...maybe less...the ones for the JZS16x's are less than that (but they import those regularly).

Rover, quite a few people have Tein's on their Lexos...

Here's the Tein FLEX on my GS430...

Are you talking about the HA model for $1200? Or something else? HA seems to be very stiff when I check out the Tein Japan Website. They also offer CS model with lower spring rate.

The HA's....they are stiffer than the FLEX or the CS, but you MIGHT not mind...they're not SUPER STIFF...just very firm...

The only way to REALLY tell is to get in a car with the setup you want and drive it...also, the wheel/tire make a BIG difference...if they have 20's with 30 series tires on it, that alone might be too rough for some people...

Do you mind if I ask how much you got it for? How low is yours setup at.....how many fingers (at the wheel-well gap)?

Got any pics of your car?
