Default 1993 GS300 Brake Lights & Gear Shift

Hey I have a 1993 GS300 and my brake lights have gone out. Also the gear shift does not move out of park. I know that they both work together somehow; however my local auto part store does not want to help much. Is there anyone who knows what possibly could be wrong without me having to go to a shop and pay for someone to diagnose my vehicle????

Thanks for the help!!!!

it could be a fuse.. check the fuses that are inside the car. Have you tried to do any electrical work on the car at all lately?

It could also be the brake light switch which is located on the brake pedal arm.

Well I messed with the fuses in the foot well and the lights worked for a bit. I also checked them all, none of them seemed burnt out. I just need a fuse diagram. Does anyone have one??

I actually went to pep boys and bought a huge assorted pack of smart fuses. I replaced every single one, and it did the trick. But thanks for everyone's help.
