Manual conversion process
So after over a year the GS300 finally makes it to the top of my TODO list.
Pulled it into the garage last night to begin the rebirth. I still need to build an engine, but while I am waiting for parts I started the manual conversion. I am pretty happy with the results.
Originally I thought there is no way I can fit a master cyl through the firewall so I figured I would buy a Willwood reverse swing. After attemping to fit the Willwood, I was not happy with what I was going to have to do to get it to fit. That stupid fuse box is right in the way and I didn't want to have to move it.
I just happened to have a MKIV clutch pedal assembly laying around so I though t I would give it a go. The way the pedal is designed, it allows me to put the bracket right by the kick panel and the pedal curves around the fuse box and puts the pad right were it needs to be...well, sort of. The firewall is angled where the master cyl goes through, so some modification to the bracket was needed. So I cut and angled the bracket to be a nice fit. Drilled the holes through the firewall and bolted it up. Beautiful!! Now I can send back my $300 Willwood setup. WOHOO!!
Only problem now is the firewall does not offer enough support. So I took my old emergency brake bracket(by the way, that has to be moved which if you are going manual, you want to do a hand brake anyway). I then welded some square tubing between the e-brake bracket and the clutch pedal bracket. Solid as a ROCK!!!!
Now I just need to order a MKIV master cyl, run a steel braided line and I should be done with the clutch pedal. Now just need to figure out the shifter location and the hand brake.
enjoy the pics

Here is my engine harness. Notice the bundle of wires. All the stuff I removed from the harness. Mostly for the auto which are no longer needed. Then I separated things out like tailshaft wires, igntion, injectors, and sensors. Wiring will be nice and clean on this.

Impressive, job well done! I'll be taking on this task very soon. Could you help me out with a measurement of the transmission from the front of the bellhousing where it mates to the block to the center of the shifter base? I need to explore my options on which trans Im going to use.......looking at using the GM 6 spd. Thanks!

Im looking to go manual on my 94 GS as well but I plan on using a w58 that came off a 93 sc300 am I going to need an extention built for my shifter like the one you built for your tranny and if so can you fabricate one along with a clutch pedal. How much would you charge?
