How much oil and exhaust smells
I just did my second oil change since i first got the car and when I go to refill it back up with oil i've been told to use 5 quarts. When i check the dipstick it only reads half way, i've been using 5.5 quarts to fill up the oil does that sound right for you guys too?
also does anyone elses exhaust smell horrible when the car is started for the first 5 minutes or so...it sorta smells like burnt rotten eggs or something
I was getting like 18 MPG highway using 91, got about 20 MPG using 89, changed out my air filter hopefully it goes back to my 24 MPG when i ran open airbox

Recommended oil capacity according to my owner's manual for a 1994 GS300 is 5.4 quarts. 5.5 is fine.
The rotten egg smell is most likely a clogged or failing cat converter. That is definitely not normal for these cars.

If it was a clogged cat wouldn't that cause me to fail SMOG? it smelled even when i had my smog done too, but i passed with ease. the smell goes away after the car is fully warmed up

Probably early signs of a cat thats going bad. I'm sure your car was fully warmed up before getting it smogged. Thats why it is always a good idea to fully warm up your car to normal operating temperature before you smog your car. I usually push it a bit harder right before pulling into the smog station.
