Default Suspension Bushings Kit for MK1 GS

Does anyone anywhere,
sell a complete "Suspension Bushings" replacement kit
for front and rear suspension of the Mark1 GS300 (93-97) ?

For me personally, really I need the front suspension control
arms bushings, and every bushing in the rear... (130.000 miles)

The Mark 2 GS300, seems to be very well
catered for at the moment...

i'm planning on having a kit fabricated, reportedly there is a TRD kit out there, but no one posts the part #s and knowing TRD it is hugely expensive.

I put up a post a short time ago requesting old suspension arms so i can mic the holes for the bushings and get the measurements needed to a fabricator.

The TRD bushings have been (sadly) discontinued for at least 3 years now...

The only TRD bushings are for the MK2 GS300 98 up, and here is that link...

Here is a link to the TRD parts for a MKIV Supra, which "apparently"
shares some of the same parts, but I don't know which ones
(Bar Stool Story), and even most of those are discontinued too...

i doubt the mk4 bushings will swap over. here's why.. i have part of a Daizen bushing kit for the SC300.. the upper arm bushings.. so i pulled my rear upper arms and pressed out the old stock bushings.. the Daizen for the sc300 are 1mm smaller than the hole in the gs arm. The mk4 and sc300 are reportedly interchangeable..soooo...

i just need old control arms to press out the bushing and mic the holes to get some bushing kits made... anyone out there.. wrecked GS/Aristo.. i need the complete set of arms, radius rods..etc anything with a bushing. it doesnt matter if it is right side, left side.. whatever, as long as I have one of each.

Here is a list.. of what i need and what i have..

Rear Upper control arm-have these measurements
Rear Lower control arm-need
Rear Toe link rod(one w/ ball joint)-need
Rear Radius rod (long one with forked end)-need
Front Upper control arm-need
Front Lower control arms-need

I will update this list and when I have it all I'll send off the measurements. As a last resort, my own car will be down for a few weeks, but I'm trying to avoid pushing the old bushings out AND back in to get the car back onto the trailer.

Anyone that wants to help get this kit together for the 1st gens, PM me.

Got this from Andrew Vlamos in Australia,
remember he is talking Australian dollars...

www.vftbushes.com

Hi Graham,

I do not stock or reproduce the bushes to suit your model sorry....however I can clone a set for you but I will need one of your bushes or 2 if the are not all identical.....Cost of making the dies and is approx $200 I would only need one if all bushes are identical......if they are different it would cost the same again to for the second die.
Then we would have to vulcanise the bushes and a bill of materials i.e. sleeves, casings etc etc this would cost anywhere from $285 - $385 for a set of bushes depending on the degree of difficulty (shape of the bush)

From your e-mail, Graham:
"I'm told, but cannot verify, that most if not all the bushings are the same as the Lexus GS300 93-97 model and apparently shares many bushings with the MKiV Supra 93-98????".

Yes you are correct this is the case with many of the Toyota models not just the models you have mentioned however finding this out (which parts & models) is the tricky part.

I know the all the Supra suspension parts from 93 -98 are the same as the Soarer SC300/400 and I know of a couple of parts from the Supra will fit the Celsior /LS400 but I cannot tell you if the are the same on the Aristo.

Kind regards,

Andrew Vlamos

i wish the Aristo/GS300 jzs147 would correspond to the MK4.. would be so easy, but apparently not.

Pricing there is pretty high. I'm talking to several bushing manufacturers and total cost for a kit will be in the $300.00-$400.00 range. This is for every replaceable bushing on the car.

What shore hardness are you aming for ?

I hear anything over 60 is kinda "Drifter" hard,
which would be too hard for me,
but 25-50 percent harder than stock would not be a problem...

your price range of 300-400 us dollars seems to be a good price.

What volumes do you need to get that figure, 20 full sets ordered, 40 even ?

As well as bushing diameters,
you will need the bolt housing sleeves inner diameter.

It would be nice if the housings and bolt housing sleeves
were stainless steel or cadminium plated for corrosion resistance...

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, and thank you for all the postings so far
on this subject, Epik.

the main bushing company over here is energy suspension, they have 2 bushings that they offer for most cars.. the red and the black. i'll look further into the durometer of the urethane itself, but they say the black is impregnated with graphite for less squeaking..

i have mic'd the inner and outer sleeves as well. chances are, with the harder bushing, an outer metal sleeve will not be necessary.

BTW, Energy Suspension is not one of the companies that i'm looking into.. too big to get anywhere. Working in smaller volume with smaller companies. 10 kits should do it.

There is one other possibility.. since a few people around the globe are now watching.. there is a company called Super Pro that makes busings.. They have been rumored to have made a JZS147 kit. Anyone that can dig up info on it, please do.. the price was excellent at around $300.00 for the full kit.

Last i heard, they were based in Australia, but the kit wasnt one that was actively stocked, and would have to come from japan where they are made..
