Default 1996 GS300 Oil Pan

I have a UK spec 1996 Lexus GS300, my husband noticed my oil pan hanging. A. How dangerous is this? B. Could I get it to a mechanic like this? C. How much would this cost to replace?

Yes it is a concern as that means all of the oil will drain out of the engine and you will be running the engine dry.
Not only that but if the gap in the oil pan is large enough birt and dust may get into the bottom end of the engine and act like sandpaper inside of the bottom end. This will cause damage to the rod bearings and such.

More than likely the small screws securing the oil pan may have been taken out or not tightened enough. I have bo idea how long you have driven like this. If this just happened, and the mechanic is under 1 km from me then i might risk it. But If your husband can at least do an oil change, im sure he can buy and tighten the oil pan screws.

Now as i think about it, is your oil pan just hanging? Or is there a gash in it?
If there is a gash, you nore than likely will also need a used or new oil pan as well as the screws.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

It sounds like you broke a motor mount or something. The oil pan is connected to the engine and if it wasn't, you'd know. So the entire engine is sagging, not just the oil pan.
