Default People with bodykits...

How much should I expect to pay to have a bodykit painted and installed? And do I want them to paint it before or after it's installed? Thanks.

it actually depends on a variety of things. the type of paint itself is one thing, and the way you want your kit mounted is another. the type of kit makes a difference too. are you looking at a lip kit where you just add on to your stock components, or one that would have to have the oem ones removed and the new ones drilled in? did you want it molded to your car to make a 1-pc look? hows the quality of the kit itself? will the kit need additional body work done to smooth it out?

I don't know really.

Obviously everyone is looking at that WALD kit that's on sale. I would want it to look good without spending too much $$$. Drilling? That sounds scary.

keep in mind that sometimes a body kit can't be so so perfect when it comes to fitting. some people
pay extra when thy want their kit to be prepped a little in order to perfectly fit on the car. some dont care.
for example like "jdm" kits, when you test fit into yr car, there cud be some imperfections like in my case.
when i got my kit, the holes fr instance didn't match to the holes on my car to where you insert the retaining
screws/nuts. i had to make another hole just to make them work. a lot of hassle but it pays off once
you get it painted and buffed.

for the paint job, it will costs you a lot if you want good paint to last for at least 5 yrs...
i paid $1000 fr mine which includes the lower door panels cuz my used to be pearl white and gray.
that does not even inlclude labor. i did all the installation myself. the paint came out really good. heck,
the first time i saw the kit after painted, it looks better than the stock paint job on my car!!!

i spent $3000.oo cdn for the install (labour & material) by one of the best shop in town - a little pricey but well worth it. the shop really took the time and fitted evrything as if it was factory and the paint matched perfectly. i strongly suggest to fit and install the kit first before painting then re-install again. i've heard of stories where the kit is painted then installed on the car...they might as well use a band-aid or duct tape to put it on
