I don't have a whole lot of mechanical experience and i'm looking to fix up and do a few minor mods depending on what my budget allows this winter. Are there any local gurus that would help me with brake upgrades, fenders and various other things?

I'm looking for a learning experience and help so I suppose I could pay in beer/money/sex.
