Figuring on 2010 being out now... I have an 02 with 28K miles=average is 3,500/Year. 28,000 divided by 8 years=3500. Who can beat that for low mileage? How about the highest milage?

I installed wheel spacers today

I installed 30mm spacers in the back and 20mm in the front today. Super easy to do. I had worried about removing the front studs and replacing them with longer. The effort, on a scale of 1-10, was a 1. The studs popped loose very easily with only a normal hammer and light taps. No big deal, no sledge hammer, no heavy pounding, just light taps that couldn't hurt a thing. There's just enough room to remove the short studs and replace them with long ones.

On my first drive I noticed two things. I can actually feel the wider stance. I didn't expect this at all. I was going just for looks but I like the more stable slot-car like feeling that I now have. The second thing I noticed is that the car now seems to react more to cold tires, i.e., flat spots and any imbalance. These imperfections work harder on the suspension and make themselves known right away. The tires are relatively new but I'm accustomed with their previous behavior and feel. After the tires warmed up and became round again everything feels okay except for a little wiggle around 55.

The spacers certainly exaggerate what the tires are doing except for side-to-side motion which they seem to damp because of the wider track. I think I'll look around for someplace with a road-force balancer. Right now each wheel has balance weights that are always in a line so I don't think the tires were balanced laterally.

Does this sound about right to those of you that have done this mod?

Since we're going to be buying a LS430 as a daily driver, my wife suddenly has expressed interest in a SC430 as a possible replacement for our Cadillac Allante summer car. However, my wife uses a wheelchair and her travel chair would have to fit. The dimensions of the folded chair are 30" long, 24" wide, and 10" high.

Will the chair fit in the trunk with the top up?

With the top down?

Am I correct in assuming that if the chair fits in the trunk with the top down, I wouldn't be able put the chair into / out of the trunk with the top down?

Thanks!

Like others mentioned, I could eat off of the engine and the trunk still smells like a new car. Love it.
Did she leave me dead, NO, she caught her breath and got me to sears. I passed on the 700amp battery that is made for the car, and had the guy force fit a 900amp Platinum. Plenty of cranking power. 100 month warranty, 200 bucks installed.

If you have been following my posts, you have read about my unfortunate experience with the Eagle GT tires that I inherited when I bought by SC...tires only have 3400 miles since new, and after rebalancing, new wheels, replacing 1 tire (L/F) now I have a vibration at 56 coming from the rear...DT will work with me on replacements, but was told today that Goodyear will not buy them back...so I am looking at an expensive replacement. Hate to replace new tires @ 3400 mi, but they just do not feel correct after driving cars with run-flats, and my wife's new 02 with BFG's...anyone else had a similar experience? Bob

My 2002 had plugs replaced last summer due to year, not mileage recommendation from someone here on CL and I just went with stock OE plugs and I felt an improvement in torque as well as saw better mpg.

Any proven HP gains with the iridium vs platinum and any other brands recommended over the stock OE ones? Please let me know if you have experience with anything other than OE and what the results are.

With some of my other performance cars, plug upgrades did make a difference. Thanks!

is it possible to change incorrect information on a auto-check report? reason i ask,Ive decided to sell my one of my cars to purchase a new one.I ran a autocheck report to show prospective buyers and to my surprise the autocheck report on my 06' 745i seems to have some info i wasn't aware of. such as frame damage. now the reason i say its incorrect/not possible is cause the car belonged to my mother (bought brand new) and I purchased it from her only a year after. She doesnt recall ever wrecking or as much as a fender bender. So for peace of mind, while i was in San Antonio this past wkend i decided to have the car checked out by the BMW dealership, and they came back saying/providing me with an affidavit stating their was no frame damage what so ever.I don't know how the autocheck report came up with that incorrect info but I know its going to affect my resale value regardless if i have an affidavit stating other wise. any ideas on how to correct this info? I've attempted to email autocheck and I'm still waiting for a response. any info would be much appreciated.
