Circuit Motorsports is putting on a Track Day at the Gainesville Raceway Roadcourse. The date that has been set and reserved for Saturday December 5th, from 9am-5pm. There are 19 total slots available, we have capped the number of drivers to 20, to keep costs down and allow for each driver to get maximum seat time. Last trackday we had almost an hour left of track time but everyone was too tired, you get your money's worth!

It is an open trackday, which means we have the track all to ourselves from 9-5. 8 full hours of track time for 20 people, which equates to roughly 90 minutes of seat time per person. This is based on having 4 people on track at a time, running about 15 minute sessions. This has worked out very well in the past and everyone had more than enough time on the track. We keep it very casual and relaxed, not set run groups. Just line up in the pit lane when you want to run, and when there is an opening the safety steward will let you on the track. You can run as many laps at a time as you'd like, but to be courteous, try to keep it around 15 minutes each time (session). This will allow everyone to get out there and more importantly will allow your car and yourself to cool down and recharge.

I have posted the track layout below. The red line and arrows indicates the course layout we will be following. The dark blue line indicates the pit lane where cars will line up to get pointed onto the track. The light blue line indicates where you can park your car when you are taking a break/waiting. The yellow arrows indicate the pit lane exit onto the raceway and the pit lane entrance off of the raceway. The grass to either side of pit lane will be where you can setup chairs, tents, cooler, tarps, tools and relax.

Keeping the pits in the middle also allows us to have fun and watch, as pitting on the south-west side puts the trees in the way of the track, and doesn't make it very fun to watch when not driving. We have never had any safety issues in the past pitting in the middle, and we hope to keep it that way. We ask everyone to drive safely and within their limits, it's not a timed event, so just have fun!

The track will have insurance paid for the day and we will have EMTs on site, just in case. There will be safety stewards and workers out there to make sure everyone is operating safely. You are welcome to bring a small tarp or tent to stay shaded and I would highly recommend bringing some snacks, beverages and lunch. As there are no concessions on site and the closest restaurant is quite a good distance away. Since we are using the center of the track as our pits you must get there before the running starts at 9AM, otherwise you will have to wait for the cars to stop before being allowed on track. There will be no leaving or entering the track/pits when the track is "hot" (cars running).

You must wear a shirt, long pants, closed toe shoes and have a Snell rated helmet to drive. Also make sure your car is in good runing condition and would pass a safety tech inspection. No passengers will be allowed in vehicle on the track. The general rule is that you go 4 wheels off 3 times and you're done for the day. This is to keep it safe for the other drivers out there. You are welcome to bring any friends who want to attend, they can stay in the pits or within a safe area for pictures.

Cost for the full trackday is $150. Simply email us and give your full name, type of car and if anyone will be accompanying you. I will provide payment information if a slot is available, paypal is preferred. If we get over the 20 quota I will start a standby list. You can contact us at sales@circuitmotorsports.net

There are only 3 weeks until Dec. 5th, So hurry up and get your spot!

I don't personally own anything with a Lexus badge yet but the family has/has had a few over the past couple of years. Hopefully when I have a little more disposable income I'll pick up a 2nd Gen GS400.

I just realized I don't have any good pictures of the cars, the only semi-recent ones I have are from my phone. So unfortunately these will have to do for now. I need to go out and take some new ones pronto!

My Evo...

... and 280ZX in the background

Car wash day:

Mom's GS430...

...and the only picture I have of my Dad's LS4, you can just see the nose poking out of the garage

and just for fun, a car that was up at a friend's shop a while back

Hope you guys enjoy!

I have been posting a lot in the SC300/400 forum, so some may already recognize me. I drive a Pearl White w/ gold package(blah) 1997 SC400. Bone stock for now aside from 2500k yellow Nokya fog bulbs lol. I have a bundle of parts waiting to be installed sitting in my dining room: Supra TT shocks w/ Eibach Pro lowering springs (2" drop), Xentec 8000k HID kit, Magnaflow 14829 mufflers but I've decided I'm going to sell them and go with a straight-pipe Borla setup instead, gold XXR 962 wheels, 18x8.5" +35 w/ 235/35's in front and 18.9.5" +35 w/ 265/30's in rear. That's all in-hanf and waiting to be thrown on when I have time. Future plans will be: shaving the gold pin-stripes, chroming all badges, and possibly boosting the V8 next year. I also plan on getting better wheels when I have some more funds available, so you can flame me for the XXR's if you want lol. Anyways, here's how she sits right now...
I'd like to know what everyone thinks. And also who here is around me? I see a lot of SC's in my area, but none are modded and they're mostly old folk lol. I'd like to meet some fellow SC enthusiasts around here...

Weather Permitting
See you there!
Hello All,

Saturday will be the 12th addition to Charlotte Area Cars and Coffee on Saturday, Nov 7th! It is hard to believe that is has been a year since the first event where 30+ cars showed up on a rainy Saturday! We have had as many as 300+ cars, so we have grown by leaps and bounds, time flies when you are having fun! The point was to establish a set forum in Charlotte where 'certified car nuts' like myself could meet other like minded individuals that share the same passion. It has been exciting watching the event grow, seeing familiar faces and cars at each event. I know I have added quite a few new and interesting friends this year to the mix that are connected to the same thrill that I am, CARS! Mission accomplished!

October once again proved to be a great time. Turn out was a bit light but in the fall other priorities take place like soccer, baseball, college football, several charity events, and yardwork! As long as this is a staple, come when you can, grab your neighbors and co-workers who may love the sights as much as you do and come join in the fun.

Check out the updated pictures on www.carsandcoffeecharlotte.com . We want to continue to have a great outlet to share our passion and knowledge about cars so keep it growing! If you have not signed on to the forum on www.carsandcoffeecharlotte please do so for more detailed updates!

***IMPORTANT UPDATE:*** I have had several request for vendors over the last 12 months to partisipate in this growing event. Unfortunitly the mall management has asked that we do not have any vendors displaying and selling their goods at our event. It is suppose to be strickly a social gathering and any 'selling of goods' is looked at by the mall management as competition from their tenets (as well as violates taxes laws, etc). It also takes up much needed space for C&C traffic as well as regular store traffic.

If you would like to bring flyers that explain your products and have your contact info on them that is fine, but displaying and selling is out of the question. We risk loosing the right to use the North Lake property if we have vendors setting up there. Thank you for complying and respecting this rule that the mall managment has established.

***IMPORTANT PARKING REQUEST***Also they have asked that we leave the parking spaces directly infront of the Panera (on both sides) open for 'normal' traffic. It is apparent that some people that are not as car friendly and are part of the normal business traffic have parked there and opened car doors on other cars and not left much room. I would avoid these spaces to avoid a visit to the Dent Wizard! There is plenty of room in the adjacent lots for us to park. Also we need to avoid parking in the spaces directly behind Kinkos and the Mattress Company. They were a bit concerned because it interferred with their customers ability to load goods and vendors to make deliveries (not a big deal but we want to keep everyone happy).

As this event continues to grow and in order to keep it safe, fun and in tact we need to make sure of a few things:

The 8 AM start time is still working well so that we all can go about our normal Saturday business after a few hours gawking at great rides. It will also allow us to take advantage of the empty adjacent lots if we need them before the patrons and employees of the restaurants start rolling in around 11AM.

We are now on the radar screen of the Mecklenburg Police Dept's North Division, which is not a problem because we are on mall property which we have permission to be on, but on the access roads leading to the property and the main highway they will be patrolling 'helping' us adhere to the speed limits. So be cautious and slow down a bit. Also as a mature crowd continue not to peel out, race through the parking lots or ignore common safety.

In order to stay within the good graces of the mall management company please be kind and dispose of your trash in the trash cans around the property. We are doing a great job so far, so keep it up! I spoke with them and they are willing to add additional receptacles as needed.

Continue to support Panera and other businesses in the area, the management has gone out of their way to lobby mall management to keep this event going and prospering. A year into it and the mall management is still happy to host us.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you again and please pass the word to friends, neighbors and co-workers that want to bring out their rides.

See you soon,

Michael
