So I have a gate to get in to the community and my garage door. I'm able to get my garage door to work with home link by putting my garage door in learning mode or whatever.

My issue is I cant get the home link to open up the gate to the community. I hold down the home link button...it blinks slow...press the button on the remote and then the home link light starts to blink fast which tells me it accepted the code, however it never opens the gate.

I've also held down buttons 1 & 3 to clear the codes and tried again...no dice. Anybody have any suggestions?

The homelink in my GS400 opens both the gate and the garage so I'm really confused here....

Upon reading a Lexus Singapore article about how the 2010s add massage for both rear seats, I checked and yes indeed, the 2010 LS 460 and LS 460 L offers dual lumbar massage rear seats...this is different from the multi-function shiatsu/shoulder massage which the Exec reclining seat gets, however it restores a massage function for both rear seats as in the Ultra Luxury LS 430.

The lumbar massage controller is in the armrest (high res version of photo shows more detail). The dual rear seat lumbar massage is confirmed here:

Now that I have driven it more than just the good ol' test drive I have some questions for current owners who can shed some light.

1st Observation....Engine noise....should I really hear the engine as much as I am from the cabin? My 2000 GS400 is quieter than this thing.

2nd...Are there any known issues with AFS? It looks like when I turn the headlights on and I make a turn I can see the headlight move to the left and then after that it disables itself and tells me to go to the dealership.

3rd....I noticed a smell coming from the engine in the cabin. I'm hoping this is because the car has been sitting around for a month and hasnt really been driven much. This did seem to subside though after driving around for a while.

It does seem to drive nice. Definitely different than my GS400 but its like a boat gliding through the water..lol.

I will be taking it in for service next week to have the wind noise issue resolved as I noticed this the minute I test drove it.

If any of you can shed some light on some of the questions I have that would be great and if there is anything else I should look out for please let me know. I have about 23,000 miles left on my warranty and would like to get all my issues addressed.

Live in NE but don't drive Lexus in snow. Dealer recommends Michelin Pilot Sport. Says better wearing tire, but with same road handling features.
Also, have there been any problems with standard susp. My front end and rears wheels were completely out of alignment.
Have only 20M in 2.5 years mostly by me. Car is driven easy plus I haven't hit any major pot holes etc. Drive did not pull drove straight. Yet right front tire wore badly on out edge.

I got what I thought was great $ on my trade RX330 (avg of full trade-in for the 3 big sites - nada/kelly blue book and edmunds). So if they can make any $ there more power to them.

So it seems the dealers are willing to talk. :D Now I must wait until they come in but it will be worth the wait. I will post pics when she comes in.

I do have a question ( I will search forum later to see if it was discussed) but what are owners feeling on having the permashield - or permabond film installed especially when I live in the northeast? Have most who have had it been happy or am I wasting $ there? We test drove one at the dealership which my dad absolutely loved. They were asking 61K for a 2008 with 9k miles...I basically told them to f off and no. We're in no real rush though my dad believes we may be able to get one for a ridiculously low price (low 40s out the door) late December as a means of last minute incentive for salesman. Anyway I had a few questions before I began my quest to seek out the ideal car.

1) I know that no changes were made between 2007 or 2008 but are there any major reasons I should opt for the '08 over the '07?

2) Does a car with the Navigation / ML speakers automatically mean that it is "fully loaded" and have the automatic parking sysem?

3) What do you think is the best price I can get an 2007 LS (both short and long base) "fully loaded" with less than 40k miles for?
