Default Nav. 11.1 update

I just got notice that the Nav. 11.1 update disk has been released. The price is $169 at the dealers. Has anyone ordered one or had it installed by Lexus? Has anyone installed their own . Just wondering.

I got the notice too. I wonder how much the cost with installation is? Previously it was around $300 (way too high IMO) with $199 of that for the updates themselves.

Can you just insert the disk yourself? Not sure if it works the same as on my Honda but that was just a replacement - open disc slot, remove old disc, insert new disc.

I have not received a notice yet, but $169.00 is a price drop. With GPS and google maps w/voice on smartphones, I can't see why this can't be a courtesy upgrade, free of charge. I'm not sure if the upgrade can be done without the dealer though.

Beginning with the 2010's the NAV updates are done using a coded flash drive and are installed at the dealership via a laptop. Hence the addtional cost over the new $169 MRSP of the update only.

l-tuned parts.com is selling the 11.1 upgrade DVD for $155 with free shipping. Search for "nav".

Their website doesn't list all of the latest Lexus models (for example, ES stops at 2006), but they say that if you put your year and model in the comments, they'll ship the correct disc.

I've placed an order; will let you know how it works out.

Default Nav 11.1 upgrade

I just bought the upgrade and installed it myself. Installing it is easy. The total cost at my dealer was $182.94. $169.00 for the disk & $13.94 Texas sales tax. (Hate these taxes).

Have you noticed any significant differences with the new info?

Received my 11.1 upgrade disc today from l-tunedparts.com (Carson Toyota). Everything as expected, and their price ($155 with free shipping) was the best I could find for the genuine article.

Default Nav upgrade

Haven't heard a thing from my dealer in Canada. Does this upgrade include Canada? Frankly haven't been too impressed with the Nav software compared to the Garmin Zumo I use on my Ducati.

Canadian price?
