Default Shocked at how well my new 2008 ES350 performs in the snow

I purchased my car back in August and I don't drive it very often in the winter but the other day my winter car was being used by my son so I drove the Lexus in a pretty good amount of snow and I was amazed how well this car handled. Another pleasant surprise. By the way this was my first venture into the world of entry level luxury and I must say I am really enjoying this car. I just wish I would have waited till winter to purchase. I received $2,500 off MSRP and now they are offering $5,000 off all in stock vehicles. Oh well.

harrington,

Several of our Canadian members mentioned good snow performance as well, 07 model.

I got a call yesterday evening from a dealer, and I could tell they are wanting to move some/discounting them.

I believe to make up for last quarter drop in sales.

On the bright side, you have had the use of it longer than newer buyers, so look at the $$$$ difference as a small price to pay for as many months as you have had it.

Car sales for 2008 are expected to be low, as lenders are tightening up in the sub prime market. Expect great deals to continue.

I totally agree with you. The car really handles well in the snow. Must have something to do with FWD.

All you have to do is to drive subtle in the winter. No sudden turns, braking, acceleration etc unless really necessary.

I agree, a lot has to do with the operator, not the vehicle.

Most FWD cars will do fine in a 5 inch or less snow storm.

I have been very impressed with my 350 in the snow. Even though the Turanza's are hardly agressive, I have not had any issues though the half dozen winter storms we have seen in Denver so far this year. I have made it through as much as 10 inches of loose snow and have not seen the traction light come on very much at all, unless I was fooling around to test the limits.
