the 2016 ES update ? is it me or does it look like the Avalon ? i know it's built on the Avalon platform but on the outside it looks like an Avalon... Lexus Enthusiast has the pics, sorry i didn't copy and paste.

thats what i thought when i first saw it as well, the extremely large grille definitely resembles the catfish grille of the Avalon. I do like the rear taillights however, since they are the same dimenions as the previous model im thinking about buying them and tossing them on my car for a updated look.

My thought exactly. In the front, it seems like the lights are similar to the Avalon and the grille from the new Camry. In the back, the tail lights shape are similar to the new Camry.

Our rear taillights resemble the new Camry as well, because of that clear part.

That's true since the 2016 is basically the same light as the 2015, but with different graphics. I think Toyota messed up by making the new Camry look too similar to the ES.

Yeah i would rather an all red taillight with a tiny clear part for reverse, i do like the the LED pattern on the 2016 model, it has 2 swooping L's for Lexus, very similar to the LS taillights.

Is Toyota updating the camry to look more upscale or is Lexus downgrading to appeal to the masses and sell more cars?

Well, they are a for-profit business. Everything they do is to sell more cars and make more money. Hard to fault them for that.

I really like the '16 ES. I think they've done a real nice update here.

i can't see the resemblance between the Cam and the ES...

agreed... i like the 16 ES update, but only from the front to the pillar... from the back doors to the trunk, they need a little help with the design.
