Good Price For Wheels
My Lexus dealer has a set of 18" wheels taken from a 2015 ES 350 that he will sell me for $800. I think the ES 350 looks better with the larger wheels and am trying to justify in my mind to purchase them. Is this a good price for takeoffs from a dealer? I guess I could try and sell my 17" wheels and tires that have only 75 miles on them as of today to recoup some or all of the cost. What do you guys think?

Which 17's do you have?
The 18's are an 811.00 option on the car when new. Does your 800 price include tires too?
Ive driven the car with both the 18s and the 17s and I like the ride with the 17s better. But I didnt get a chance to check the air pressure on the 18s so that may have affected the ride a bit.

My ES came with the 12 spoke alloy wheels and Michelin MXV4's. His price does not include the tires. He did offer the wheels and Michelin MXM4's, which is what comes on the cars new from Japan for $1645.00 plus tax.

Overall it sounds like a great price for OEM wheels. They're very expensive when buying individually- like just shy of what you are paying for the entire set. I prefer ride quality myself and would stick with the 17s if it were me. Don't have to worry about any speedo issues that way either.

I was actually looking on Ebay today for OEM 18" wheels and there werent many sets. It was far easier to find a set of OEM 17s.
The cars Im looking at all have the 18s (apparently most Ultra Lux models come in with 18s) so Id actually be in the market for 17s if I bought an ES350 and the dealer wouldnt help me out with a swap

If I were you, I would jump on the 18's at that price. You could probably break even by selling your 17's.

I decided to pass on this set of wheels. When I inspected them closely there were knicks around the edge of the wheels from lousy dismounting, a few surface scratches, and they were dirty. The parts manager hadn't even bothered to try and clean them up. I then stated that as an option on a new car the cost was $800 for the wheels and since these were takeoffs, and now used IMO, the price should be lower. Neither of us would budge on our position so I took a pass. There are a few online sites that are showing remanufactured OEM and OEM replicas for around $250 a wheel. I think I'll continue to look around for now. If you want the dealer info I'll gladly send it to you.

^^^ I noticed those a few days ago. The thread was closed because the guy had less than 30 posts and no one to vouch for him. If I lived in his area I would definitely check the wheels out. Good price, but I'm not willing to take a $900+ chance on a relative unknown newbie.

I would keep the stock 17s (mount winter tires on them if you live up north) I'm a fan of having two sets of wheels for
1) changing season
2) emergency spare set.
Also at $800 a set just for wheels and no tires I would look into aftermarket brands maybe you'll find a design you like for a good price. I paid $480 for a new set of XXR wheels. The stock 18s are not wide enough imo. I went with 18x9wide with a 35+ offset and it really filled the wheel well good without poking out.
And for tire I stay away from Mitchellin just bcus it's really expensive compared to other brands such as falkens and sumitomo. My last set of sumitomo I paid $500 mounted and balance. Some say you get what you pay for but ride quality isn't a concern for me since I'm lowered and my car already feels horrible over road imperfections.
