Wow.... So much useful advice.... I really like the brightness in the car...and think the parchment really brings out the interior....especially on a sunny day..,

You Do need black mats or all weather mats, however, if you have beige carpets.

The only way we were buying this car was with black interior. The parchment felt like we were in an old Buick. The black makes the car feel more up to date and sporty. We bought the only starfire/black leather car the dealer had.

I had parchment (light-tan) leather on my Acura for 12 years. It soils and you have to clean it...but "crumbs" don't show as much. With black, you won't notice the soiling but you'll notice all the specks of dirt. I like to keep my car clean, so I vacuum a bit. But cleaning the leather is more a chore...and I like clean leather. I liked the "luxury" look of the parchment but kinda wanted to try black after all these years. Well, the dealer only had one red 2014 ES/UL/ML last summer with black leather...so my decision was made! So after eight months, I have really enjoyed the black. I think it looks stylish and I "feel good" sitting in the car (of course anyone probably does in "their" color car! =)
Anyway...good luck! My vote is black mostly because of soiling and cleaning the leather often to keep it good looking.

I opted for a mix
I had the lighter interior in my GS, and eventually just got the black (carpet) floor mats. Did the same things with the ES300h I got this week. I get the nice, bright interior and a more serviceable floormat.
